EL libro de los libros
historias sobre imágenes
Buchholz, Quint
In the winter of 1996, the writer and publisher Michael Krüger sent forty-six writers from different countries an equal number of drawings by the great German illustrator Quint Buchholz. The drawings had a common theme: the book. The result is this unusual volume, in which the writers illustrate the images. And the narrators who lent themselves to this original proposal are also some of the best in the world: John Berger, Jostein Gaarder, Milan Kundera, Herta Müller, Orhan Pamuk, W. G. Sebald, Susan Sontag or Charles Simic, among many others. There are also nine Spanish writers, and they are also magnificent: José Agustín Goytisolo, Javier Marías, Juan Marsé, Carmen Martín Gaite, Gustavo Martín Garzo, Ana María Matute, Eduardo Mendoza, Anna Maria Mox and Javier Tomeo.
