El lado correcto de la historia

As a society, we are forgetting that almost all the extraordinary events that have taken place in history have been carried out by people who believed in Judeo-Christian values and the power of reason born in classical Greece. These ideas can be summarized in two related notions. The first, that all humans are made in the image of God, and the second, that humans are born with a capacity to reason that allows them to explore the world. Those values, the story of which this book recounts in an astonishingly agile and profound way, enabled the birth of science, the dream of progress, human rights, prosperity, peace and artistic beauty. They built the West, defeated Nazism and Communism, lifted billions of people out of poverty, and provided them with a moral goal. However, today sectarianism, hedonism, progressivism, leftist authoritarian governments, feminism and scientific materialism are about to spoil the achievements made. We must not allow it. The correct side of the story is, at the same time, an explanation of the Judeo-Christian values and Greek natural law responsible for the greatness of the West and the best defense that can be made of them.
