El honor del samurái
Matsuoka, Takashi
In 1861 Japan was forced to open the doors to the West, with the consequent clash between the two cultures. Foreign ships gather in the port of Edo in search of opportunities in these lands; One of them transports a group of Americans whose objective is to bring the word of God to the Japanese people. For two of these missionaries, however, the journey involves something else: young Emily Gibson wants to leave behind an uncomfortable past and start a new life; Matthew Stark has something to hide under his peaceful appearance. The fate of both intersects with that of Genji, a young samurai heir to the Akaoka clan. Her friendship with outsiders arouses the suspicion of other clans, who will declare open war on Genji. Helped by his two new friends and his lover, Geisha Heiko, he will defend his position by avoiding intrigues and betrayals.
