El gran farol
cómo aprendí a prestar atención, dominarme y ganar
Konnikova, Maria
In 2016, the psychology writer Maria Konnikova became interested in the role that luck plays in our lives and to what extent we can control what happens to us. To find out, she decided to dive into the world of poker from scratch and see if the dynamics of this game could be applied to our own lives. She could not have suspected that in a very few months she would go from not knowing how many cards there is in a deck to becoming an international poker champion and winning more than three hundred thousand dollars in a fiercely competitive and predominantly male arena. While we accompany the author through the ins and outs of the game to the top, we discover everything that poker is capable of revealing about human behavior, decision-making, the management of frustration or the role of chance in our lives.
