El gran Calvin y Hobbes ilustrado

Watterson, Bill

Calvin and Hobbes is without a doubt one of the most popular comics of all time. It narrates the hilarious antics of Calvin, a precocious, rambunctious and adventurous six-year-old boy; and from Hobbes, his sarcastic tiger, a feline as real to Calvin as a cuddly cuddly toy to others. Watterson's ability to showcase childhood, including his own memories, fuels Calvin's flights of fantasy, whether he's boarding a capsule as Captain Spiff (taking on fearsome aliens as stand-ins for Calvin's real-life authority figures ) or imagining that it is a fearsome beast. Stephan Pastis, creator of Pearls Before Swine, considers Calvin to be an expression of pure boyhood personality, but believes there is another dynamic that makes many of Calvin's imaginative acts so appealing. Watterson "captured exactly how you feel as a child, how limited you are by your parents, by your nanny, by Miss Wormwood. You're really cornered and all you're left with is individual expression", says Pastis.
