El espejo empañado
sobre el realismo y el testimonio (desde la literatura hispanoamericana)
Urrutia, Jorge
"The Fogged Mirror" focuses on Hispanic American literature as a constructor of a feeling of continental identity. The book looks for the identity characters that literature has highlighted, both in terms of content and formalities, it analyzes the concepts of nature, truth, veracity, commitment and testimony and submits to criticism the idea that the defining characteristic of Latin American literature is testimony. A part of the study is dedicated to the plantation novel, which characterized Ibero-American literature between 1920 and 1950, but was forgotten with the arrival of the so-called boom, and later by the books of direct testimony. It concludes with a reflection on the genesic spirit of literature, regardless of its political significance.
