Landscape is not a concept that has appeared surreptitiously at some point in our history, but rather a cultural construct that has cost a lot of effort, time and ingenuity to put together, and in whose process philosophers, poets, artists, cartographers, have intervened. geographers and scientists who have contributed different approaches, visions and references from their professional experiences to the point of consolidating a concept and a word to name it that today any European citizen uses, better or worse, in their respective languages. The landscape is a construct, that is, an idea that is built. In this book I have tried to locate, analyze and show the cultural materials with which this idea has been built in Europe, and I have tried to do so from the methodologies of history. This is, therefore, a cultural history of the landscape 'in Europe'.
