On the banks of a river that forms the border between two countries recently separated for political reasons, a group of girls meets every day, hot or cold, to swim and train tirelessly: they have decided to form a synchronized swimming team. They have seen it on television, sport is the only thing that would allow them to flee their country in crisis and travel, firstly, to the country on the other side of the river, then to the rest of the world, where they imagine a life full of promises.
