El Decamerón

Boccaccio, Giovanni

Fleeing from the plague of 1348, ten young Florentines (three men and seven women) decide to take refuge in the villa of one of them located in the countryside. Throughout their fourteen-day absence, to pass the time during the hot after-hours they decide to tell stories daily (except Saturday and Sunday) in turn. The result is a delicious collection of one hundred stories that brings together the most diverse aspects of human life, often with humor, others with horror or with a delicate lewd wink, but always in a way that does not leave you indifferent. The "Decameron" is one of the great works of world literature.
