In 1806, the Spanish colonies in America began different revolutionary processes to gain independence from the Crown of Spain, and Buenos Aires was one of the first to materialize the dream of independence. Roger Blackraven is a wealthy British businessman whose special interest lies in Buenos Aires, where he is lord and master of land and people. Dominant in character, he is feared by those around him. Melody Maguire is a young Creole whose father is Irish, who fled her homeland to avoid being executed by the English authorities. When Roger and Melody's lives intersect, they will change forever.
