El cuaderno prohibido

De Céspedes, Alba

Valeria Cossati is a prisoner of the social conventions of Italy in the fifties and lives suffocated, almost without realizing it, between her roles as wife and mother. Prey to an inexplicable impulse, he buys a small black notebook in which he writes down his reflections and in which the unsatisfactory nature of his bourgeois life begins to be revealed: in that forbidden space provided by writing, the subterranean conflicts of his existence emerge, the aspirations frustrated and hidden resentments, until leading to an intimate act that will shock the reader.
