Schopenhauer, Arthur
Schopenhauer wrote The Art of Being Right (or Eristic Dialectic) to systematize "the cunning, cunning and baseness" that we use when we argue with the sole purpose of making our ideas prevail. At the time when Hegel pointed out the dialectic as the only way to reach the culmination of the Spirit, Schopenhauer, his irreducible antagonist, understood it as the foil to wield in the particular fencing match that is any discussion. For this reason, he decided to gather in this booklet thirty-eight stratagems that, in his opinion, turn dialectic into an "art of sophistry", since they cloud the search for truth, the ultimate reason for philosophy.
