Liang Shelby is a survivor of the so-called "Covenant Academy Tragedy". Trying to forget what happened as she works as an apprentice at the Tower of London, she puts up with the Demon she has for a partner and wanders the East End at dawn, trying to earn some money to help her family. She until one night she witnesses something she shouldn't have seen and her fate is tied to a magical item that shouldn't even exist. Now, with the help (if it can be called that) of an old acquaintance of her family, Liang must protect what she keeps inside as the bombs plague London every night, the Coven begins to suspect her, those responsible for the Tragedy of the Academy hunts her down and an old classmate invades her days...and her dreams.
