This book has the most important protagonist in it: the time traveller. Unlike a time traveler, he does not go back and forth through time, but always goes forward, from village to village, trying to collect the idioms used in daily conversations -words about the weather- because he firmly believes that words are among the most distinctive representatives of a cultural community; he will often hear and pick up not only words, but expressions, proverbs and ways of understanding the world. He will remember to sharpen everything during a trip, but so many things will be explained to him that he will have to ask for help at a certain point of the trip, if he is to finish the trip as planned. It will go through all the countries of the Basque Country, starting with Getxo, the town of Bizkaia that still preserves its original language, located in the westernmost part, and ending in Eskiula, a Basque-speaking town outside the Basque Country, on the Biarno side. He will use numerous meeting places to interact with citizens and experts in the words of the era: cultural centers, town halls, Basque schools, Basque associations, bars, churches, parks... any place is good for the traveler of the era to interact with citizens and experts. It is a novelized essay, as its purpose is to show, explain and teach, but it also has elements from the novel, from the narrative, as fictional and real characters appear here and there throughout the journey. Of course, the most exciting thing is to read the book from beginning to end, but the reader has the option of going directly to a town or region, to learn which languages are used, or to use the index of all the words that appeared during the trip, to look up where they are used and read the context.
