Marta Buchaca always explores the ambivalence between drama and comedy, describing and interspersing the intense emotions of the tragic moments of our lives with the most hilarious events. Topics such as suicide are treated with humor in "Litus", where a young man is more worried about the breakup with his partner than about the tragic end of his friend; "Rita", where two brothers consider the need to abandon what they love so much; "Kramig", which portrays the daily life of a couple who are expecting a baby; "Losers," a romantic comedy about the discovery of love; "Playoff", a tragicomedy that takes place in a women's soccer team locker room; and "How Long Do I Have?", a comedy in which a man who only has a month to live wants to make sure his wife is happy when he dies. "Only once" is the work that perhaps explores with greater seriousness, and without much humor, the abuse that a woman suffers from her partner.
