Dos dies de maig

Sierra i Fabra, Jordi

Former Inspector Miquel Mascarell almost accidentally discovers a plan to assassinate Franco during his visit to Barcelona in 1949. May 30 and 31, 1949. Francisco Franco, Caudillo of Spain, visits Barcelona, immersed in a climate of euphoria and surrender to the dictatorship. But not everyone thinks the same and in two days, under the silence of the press, a dozen bombs will explode in the city. Miquel Mascarell, the last republican policeman to live a new life with Patro, is confronted with a plot against the dictator. When he investigates the murder of an old friend and fellow police officer at the request of his daughter, he discovers that he can turn the country's history upside down. If he finds the killer, the attack may not take place. If it is silent, the country may have to face a new civil war or a turn of one hundred and eighty degrees as a result of the death of the Generalissimo. The key: two days of research overwhelmed by the weight of responsibility, a few hours during which Mascarell will walk on the tightrope. Will destiny or its decision mark the resolution of it all? With the rigorous historical precision and the meticulous police plots of Four Days of January, Seven Days of July and Five Days of October, Two Days of May confronts the veteran Miquel Mascarell with all his ghosts, with the aggravating factor of knowing that in his hands have the ability to stop or speed up the course of history.
