Nothing less than Warren Buffett himself admitted it when asked by a journalist from the New York Times: "It is evident that there is a class war, but it is my class, the rich class, who is leading it, and we are winning." This book analyzes the stealthy war waged by neoliberalism, pitting the powerful against the poor, elites against citizens, rulers against subjects. It is a war that is fought in very diverse spheres, from the economy and ideology to language: for example, if you want to undertake privatization or serious cutbacks, call it "reform"; for example, it stigmatizes concepts such as "class struggle"... A war in which foundations with very specific interests finance universities and research centers so that they make it clear that the only viable economic regime is capitalism. For this, any opposition to neoliberal policies must be branded as communist, and accused of violating individual freedoms.
