Cicerón, Marco Tulio

Among the speeches of Marcus Tullius Cicero, some of those collected in this volume are among the most outstanding. Here we find the famous group of the Catilinarias, which have an extraordinary political value, due to the serious context in which they pronounced themselves, and above all a literary value without parallel in Latin prose. There is also his defense of Sexto Roscio Amerino, the first important cause that gave him fame, as well as his famous plea in favor of the Manilia law and Pompey, or the defense of Lucio Murena, at a time of crisis in the Republic after the conspiracy of Catilina.
