Dinou vint
Premi de Novel·la Curta Just Manuel Casero, 2020
Carreras, Helena
During the nineteenth and twentieth year, the teenager Cuba and his mother Diana feel the need to write intimate and spontaneous notes to place themselves in a present that surpasses them. They are a teenager and a woman who run into and at the same time mirror each other, in a time of collective crisis and personal confusion. The experiences of an increasingly hopeless political process, the storm that ravages the coast where they live, the pandemic and confinement coexist with the discovery of first love, the affirmation of one's own personality and at the same time with the dead end of a wedding. The desire for freedom drives away and brings mother and daughter closer. With a mixture of mischievous humor and candor, the pages of Dinou vint drag the reader, who discovers stories, small or large, that are also his.
