Diez horas con Patricia Urquiola
Urquiola, Patricia
Patricia Urquiola defines herself as a "rhizomatic" person, a characteristic that allows her to break down the borders between her various fields of creation: architecture, interior design, design or crafts. In this conversation with the journalist Ana Morente, Urquiola goes back to her childhood to talk about her early vocation for architecture, which took her from her native Asturias to Italy, where she finished her training and established, in 2001, her own studio in the city ??of Milan, where seventy people work today. In this interview, the designer highlights that the present and future of her work involves the investigation of new materials and techniques. Fiber regeneration, reuse, sustainability or digitization mark this decisive moment of transition. The world is changing in a radical way, she says, and we have to be prepared to "move in many directions." This volume is part of the Archive of Creators, a series that collects the testimony of the great names of Spanish culture in the first person. A project designed to preserve and transmit the legacy of the most valuable people of our time.
