Diccionario de botánica

Font Quer, P.

This essential classic is not a typical botany treatise, but rather a guide to determining the exact value of each technical term, its conceptual limits, and its etymology. Taking into account the complexity of the subjects covered, several outstanding specialists collaborated with Dr. Pío Font Quer, who wrote a large number of articles and rigorously unified the lexicon of the Dictionary of Botany. The dictionary gathers around 18,000 voices, not counting the numerous expressions derived from some of them. In addition, it contains an ideological vocabulary in which the different entries are arranged by concepts to quickly locate the voices corresponding to a certain idea, that is, synonyms, antonyms and related words. Likewise, most of the terms that can be object of graphic representation are accompanied by their figure. Altogether, the work includes a thousand illustrations -approximately half are original- that make this book indispensable not only for its content but also for its form.
