Platón

The dialogues gathered in this volume -Filebo, Timaeus and Critias- belong to the last stage of Platonic production. In the first of them, to combat hedonism, he raises a complex debate about pleasure, about the different types that exist and, finally, the role that it must play to lead a good life. In the next two, Plato focuses more on physical and political themes, but also helps to enrich with them the mythical content of his philosophy. Timaeus is one of the most profound and influential texts of his that he wrote, and in it he offers his explanation of the universe: its origin, its ordering and its relation to man. Critias, unfinished dialogue, is considered the continuation of the Timaeus and in it Plato contributes to the development of the myth of Atlantis and the conflict it had with Athens.
