This fourth volume of Plato's Dialogues from the Gredos Classical Library contains what is probably his most important work: the Republic. The metaphysical theory of Ideas is presented in it and it is the first time that it enunciates a theory of science, in addition to formulating theological approaches, sketching a mandatory aesthetic, making political proposals, exposing one of the most deeply rooted anthropological conceptions in the West and elaborate his theory of education and his vision of society. A vast work, enormously influential and also controversial in many respects.
