The surprising thing about Japan is that there are always things to see or discover: the Kumano Kodo, Okinawa, Hokkaido... And then others arrive, a sentence in a history book makes us want to go to Yamaguchi, Basho's notebooks fall in love with Matsushima without having seen her. The perfect trip to Japan does not exist, because we will always leave things to see. But that is the part of grace: that in each trip we only manage to caress a piece of paradise, but without ever exhausting its possibilities.
