For decades Catalonia has been subjected to an unprecedented social experiment, meticulously designed from power. Through an extraordinary capacity for propaganda, the intellectual debate has been impoverishing. An important part of the population has accepted a story in favor of the break with Spain, nurtured both by exaggerated economic, social and historical foundations, as well as false promises of easy and innocuous success. This compilation of stories narrates the author's bet for more than a decade in favor of generating a real, open and transversal debate with greater involvement of civil elites, in addition to raising the convenience of ending the "omertá" and positioning himself without complexes to slow down nationalist leaders on their run to nowhere. In a contextual and unique vision, Jaime Malet starts from his love for Barcelona and Catalonia and concludes by betting on a renewed patriotism that rearms civil society and allows it to demand an active role in the articulation of an exciting project, of life in common, for the future of all Spaniards.
