Del cine y otros amores
Diamante, Julio
In one of the most significant paragraphs of his posthumous memoirs, "Of cinema and other loves", Julio Diamante affirms that "the cinema is mimesis: reproduction, representation, imitation, expression. See, listen, read, live and perceive life, in a continuous dialectical reflection, in order to recreate life through cinematographic forms, the most valid law must be for a film man ". A whole statement of principles, which complements his repeated conviction that "I love cinema as a fact of culture and an instrument of freedom", to join Luis Buñuel in arguing that "a film can be good, mediocre or terrible, but it should never be be made against the conscience, thoughts or ideology of the author (Fernando Lara) .This book is accompanied by "La memoria rebelde", the last documentary film made in 2012, where different personalities of our country such as Rafael Azcona, Marcos Ana, José Antonio Martín Pallín, Gonzalo Puente Ojea, Carlos Jiménez Villarejo, Santiago Carrillo, Rosa Regàs, Pilar Bardem, among others, talk about Francoism and the Transition and how they lived those years of struggle for democracy.
