Declaració d'invencions
Premi Mercè Rodoreda 2021
Sunyol, Ricard
Declaration of Inventions is a collection of stories that burn the language, written from a playful and irreverent conception of literature. Strangely spiritual instructions on how we should walk; the myth of a drunken homeless man who could be a symbol of everything and nothing; two friends telling surreal battles and haze of hashish smoke, or the despair of an entomologist trying to find out why his father whistles at all hours, are some of the stories in the collection, almost always tinged by the multiple implications inherent in the very act of narrating. With his overflowing imaginative stories, full of an absurd humor as laughing as truculent, Ricard Sunyol confronts us with a crazy world that never ceases to give us reasons to tell stories that freeze a smile on our faces.
