Throughout history countless texts have been written about desire and especially about desire in the sexual relationship. In all of them the game appears, which often has to do with the spectral relationship, that of seeing yourself in the other and that of seeing yourself and the other as a specter. James Lasdun, in the midst of being harassed by one of his Creative Writing students at Princeton, decides to travel to places of worship created under the force of desire and remember legends, novels or dramas that sustain our culture in order to understand the mechanism of desire unfulfilled that moves us to want to destroy the desired.
