Dafnis y Cloe

The story of Daphnis and Chloe is as simple as it is universal. Set on the bucolic island of Lesbos, it narrates the idyll between two teenagers who little by little discover love both in its sentimental and erotic dimensions. Longo endows his novel with a sensuality that is intensified by the prominence acquired by nature and the passing of the seasons in the process of falling in love. All this leads to a timeless narrative that is almost as close to today's sensibilities as it is to that of its contemporaries.
