In 1966, Josep Palau i Fabre published Picasso in Catalonia and, for the first time, established an orderly and comprehensive account of Picasso's relationship with our country, from the moment he arrived in Barcelona in 1895. until the inauguration of the Museu Picasso in 1963. In 1968, Joan Perucho published Joan Miró y Cataluña and highlighted the artist's link with Mont-roig and the Camp de Tarragona. This book reconstructs the history of these two fundamental books, which begins in 1944, when the two young writers, friends of the university, sought inspiration and refuge in the work of Picasso and Miró.
