Cuerpo de la prenda
construcción y transformación
Gilewska, Teresa
This book is dedicated by Teresa Gilewska to beginners in fashion modeling, dressmakers and fans of sewing and pattern making, who wish to learn to make their own patterns with new ideas and total autonomy. The first part describes in a simple and detailed way the fundamentals of taking measurements of the person and of the construction of the body of the garment. In the second part, the different ways of transforming the base pattern are explained: knowing how to interpret the model, basic clamps, cutting lines and modifications in the template, in order to make a finished pattern of the desired model. The main difficulty is not in mastering these transformation techniques, but in knowing which one to use to build the garment pattern you have in mind. To help achieve this goal, the author explains, using examples of very varied models of dresses and jackets, how to analyze each project in detail to deduce which transformation technique should be used in each specific case.
