Few writers have been as influential for the literature and popular culture of the last two centuries as Hans Christian Andersen. His stories have marked multiple generations of children and adults, who have found in them, in addition to beautiful stories and models of behavior, a faithful reflection of human society and the complex problems that underlie it.
