This volume brings together sixty Chekhov's stories carefully selected and translated by Víctor Gallego with the intention that the Spanish reader has an extensive and representative anthology of the great Russian writer's short narrative. Disregarding the short novels, it offers a broad overview of the Chekhovian short story, often unprecedented in our language, from the relentless humorous pieces of its early years to the complex compositions of its last period, in a chronological arc that spans from 1883 to 1902.
