The Variety: an island of suns surrounded by an immense cosmic void. The fifteen intelligent species that inhabit it are trapped, with no possibility of escape, although they continue to try to develop their civilizations. Lina Kolbrand is a stellar corsair, captain of the ship Eurydice. In a daring coup, she steals a priceless commodity from the Urtians, mysterious intelligent beings that function as a collective entity and are the most highly developed species of the Variety. The excessive reaction of the urtians seems to announce an all-out war against the remaining sentient species. But the Urtians have a very different goal. Before anyone else, they have understood that the universe they inhabit is dying. The suns go out and the limits of the Variety collapse. The entire cosmos seems to disintegrate. Will the inhabitants of the Variety be able to escape their prison, the bubble universe that houses them? Will they be able to save their culture and their intellectual achievements? And what lies beyond the limits of that universe? Chronicles of the Multiverse is a return to the true spirit of science fiction. A novel in which there are no limits to the imagination, but whose characters experience situations and face dilemmas that will be tremendously close to the reader.
