In an increasingly globalized world, it is fascinating to find so many unique pockets of culture among the 29 states that make up the East Coast of the US. And, truth be told, each one of them could be a independent country: from microscopic Rhode Island, with its sultry yacht-filled harbors and polo fields, to Louisiana, land of Cajun music and crocodile-filled wetlands. In between, the Appalachian Mountains, immense lakes and countless kilometers of coastline dotted with sandy beaches and nearby islands, will meet the traveler's path, not to mention its impressive cities, where it seems that one can go from one continent to another just by changing from neighborhood.
