Cortázar y los libros
Marchamalo, Jesús
When Julio Cortázar died, in his house on Rue Martel, in Paris, there were more than four thousand five hundred books left that his widow, Aurora Bernárdez, donated to the Juan March Foundation in 1993. They are books, most of them read and reread , dedicated and underlined, with comments, notes and drawings that reveal to us a passionate reader who dialogues with the authors he reads, and whom he congratulates or, frequently, expresses his discrepancy. If books, as Marguerite Yourcenar said, are the best way to get to know a person, "Cortázar y los libros" traces an original portrait of the writer through the traces he left in his readings.
