Claudia Castañeda, a young Mexican woman in the United States, impulsively marries James Blaisdel, a charming man who, upon meeting her, tells her that he was a suspect in the mysterious death of a woman in Texas. Despite the warning, for her love is stronger than fear and so, after the wedding, she agrees to move to live in James's family home, the distant Briar Rose ranch, a few kilometers from the border with her country, one of the most violent in the world. A year and a half later, Claudia is shocked to face the inexplicable loss of her husband and the growing hostility of the elegant Nina Blaisdel, her mother-in-law, who refuses to accept the disappearance of her son. An absence that will glimpse a series of sinister secrets from the past that will end up coming to light to be left, without remedy, tragically exposed to full sun. Thus, Claudia discovers that ghosts do not require darkness to manifest her presence, and also that implacable evil can grow in any field, even in the heart.
