Contra la estupidez, aprende a pensar

What is the use of thinking, reflecting on the world around us? How to learn to think? This book answers both questions and shows us what some of the great thinkers who have come before us teach us. Thinking is not a mere theoretical pastime. It helps us combat prejudice; to realize the "traps" of logic that politicians, advertisers or religious people use to avoid falling into them; to have criteria to define the limits and possibilities of scientific advances. But, contrary to what the current curricula and educational reforms seem to indicate, in order to think it is necessary to have knowledge, to learn. Nowadays it is often discussed whether it is preferable to be intelligent or to have knowledge. It is a silly discussion because both things, knowledge and intelligence, can only advance if they go hand in hand. Who insists on giving opinions before studying, because intelligence is more important than knowledge, can only give silly opinions.
