Contiños da Terra

Between 1920 and 1932, Manuel García Barros published the "Contiños da Terra" in the Estradense newspaper El Emigrando, which he later collected in a book (1931 and 1952). A set of stories of deep customary, ironic and humorous roots, where it emphasizes the skill in the characterization of the popular personages, and who have given great fame him. These stories were created not only as a mere entertainment, but also as an instructive tool, through custom and humor, to "make the people fond of reading in our language by paving the way for deeper things for which it was necessary to bring them in".
