Construir la paz
los discursos de las mujeres Premio Nobel de la Paz
VV.AA.
This volume collects the speeches of all the women awarded the Nobel Peace Prize between 1906 and 2021, from Baroness Bertha von Suttner to the journalist María Ressa (with the exceptions of Jane Addams and Mairead Corrigan, who did not deliver theirs). A constellation of fighters from all corners of the planet who, for more than a century, have become symbols of the cause of world peace in almost all its possible manifestations: the eradication of sexual violence as a weapon of war; assistance and relief to those who suffer; the prohibition of antipersonnel mines; social justice and respect for the rights of native peoples; sustainable development; freedom of expression; the universal right to schooling; disarmament and the creation of zones free of nuclear weapons... Women of very different origins, social extraction and ideas who, all of them facing the challenges imposed by the time they have lived, have offered humanity a message of hope and, above all, an example of admirable courage, commitment and tenacity that has become an invaluable legacy for present and future generations.
