Consentimiento sexual
Popova, Milena
Recently, the #MeToo movement has placed the spotlight of public attention on issues around sexual consent. People of all genders and from very different social positions have dared to tell about their experiences as victims of harassment and rape, while others have used the mass media to bitterly complain that they can no longer "hook up". On the other hand, the notorious cases of rape and harassment that have come to the fore in these years show that there is no consensus on what determines consent or non-consent, nor on how these are perceived within the framework of sexual relationships. This book reviews some key ideas of feminist thought on these issues. In addition, it studies how sexual consent is negotiated in practice and examines how popular culture influences our idea of consent, including pornography, romantic narrative, and sex manuals. The author compiles resources that will be useful for those who want to improve their own relational practices, those who are victims of sexual violence and, in general, any reader who wants to rigorously approach the many debates that this topic generates.
