Olvido García Valdés's is a work of singular internal cohesion and great tonal and formal freedom. As if each book were exploring the avenues of freedom opened by the previous one. Produced between 2012 and 2019, trust grace now joins that slow succession. If poetry, poems, have been the work in which life has been condensed, as the author has said, in this volume that work reaches a rare intensity. Voices speak and the poem listens. The perception that we are an accident, not a substance, a certain anxiety and a very fine ear are conjured at the bottom of the writing. Singularity (knowledge, emotion) and impersonality seem to be weaving it together. Or what is the same, an authentic feeling in the experience and the vibration of the collective come together in this extraordinary book.
