Sònia Rescalvo Zafra was murdered in 1991 by a group of neo-Nazis in the Catalan capital, where she had arrived seeking, like many other trans people, a refuge where she could be herself, away from the oppression and misunderstanding of a small provincial town. Decades later, and despite institutional and social improvements, Barcelona is still far from being this refuge. This is demonstrated by the fifteen narratives that make up this book: fifteen stories of everyday life lived by transfeminine people in today's Barcelona.
