In December 1930, just before Christmas, Gibbsville's aristocracy shines at balls and parties where music plays until the wee hours of the morning and alcohol flows freely. At the center of the elite are Julian and Caroline, a spectacular couple the object of everyone's envy. However, in the course of one of these evenings, Julian dares to break the rules of the coquettish society and begins a rapid and vertiginous descent towards destruction and ostracism.
