Cine, interculturalidad y políticas de género

This book argues in favor of a critical work that emphasizes, on the one hand, Semiotics as a general Theory of communication and socio-ideological production / reproduction and, on the other, on the Theory of gender as Theory of discourse, essential critical dimension for an effective understanding of both subjectivity and the social imaginary. From this point of view and in the context of interculturality as the basis of all cultural formation that results from the interaction of different and historically specific powers, the study of cinema is especially relevant for the critical analysis of non-verbal languages (or not only verbal) and audiovisual communication. That is why it is important to carry out a critical reflection on cinema that is capable of unraveling its political dimension as a productive (and not reproductive, or mimetic) element of the socio-sexual imaginary of our time.
