Catalunya-Espanya
del conflicte al diàleg polític?
Almeda, Pere
(ed.)
Why did Catalonia not achieve independence in 2017? What strategies will the Catalan independence movement prioritize from now on? Where is the political conflict between Catalonia and Spain evolving? How should the political dialogue between the Catalan and Spanish governments be articulated? What ways could be explored for citizens to participate and decide their collective future in accordance with the political projects in conflict? Is the reform of the Spanish Constitution viable? What role can the European institutions play in finding democratic and consensual solutions in conflicts of territorial sovereignty? This book aims to answer these and other questions, analyzing the political conflict between Catalonia and Spain and the events that have occurred in recent years, as a result of the referendum of October 1, 2017. Promoted by the Center for Contemporary Issues Studies (CETC) of the Generalitat de Catalunya, and through the reflection of more than sixty authors and authors, the book is structured in four axes of analysis: the debate within the independence movement, the debate in Catalonia, the debate in the Spanish State and the debate in Europe. A compilation of articles and analyzes that, from very diverse and plural perspectives, are the most complete and systematic diagnosis published on the relationship between Catalonia and Spain in recent years. The main ambition of this book, however, is to stimulate an urgent political dialogue, tracing the viable paths and defining the proposals and alternatives that should make it possible to democratically resolve the conflict and decide the future of Catalonia and Spain.
