Catalina de Aragón
Reina de Inglaterra
Tremlett, Giles
Daughter of the Catholic Monarchs, she embarked at the age of fifteen for England, to be successively the wife of Arthur, Prince of Wales, and her brother, who in 1509 became Henry VIII, King of England. Catherine shared the throne for twenty-four years and ruled the kingdom while her husband waged war in France. Until Enrique, who had not been able to give a male heir, had the marriage annulled, confronting the Church of Rome, from which he separated England, in order to marry Anne Boleyn. Outcast from the turbulent Tudor court, Catherine maintained a dignified and firm demeanor until her death.
