Escribir contra los hombres
Lovecraft, H. P.
Lyon Sprague de Camp, Lovecraft's first biographer, estimated that he must have written about a hundred thousand letters: from postcards to epistles of more than forty pages. According to these figures, his correspondence would account for 99% of his literary production. It is no coincidence that the document found half-written on his desk when he died was a letter. The entire world of Lovecraft lives in his letters. His biography, his time, his environment, his ideas about literature and about the world, his thoughts, his fears and dreams that supported his main literary works. They are "the reverse of his stories" and, at the same time, the foundations on which they are built; and also a monumental chronicle of her time and one of the longest autobiographies ever written. The publication of this first edition in Spanish of the letters of H. P. Lovecraft is a publishing event. It not only gives access to a legacy never translated into our language, but also to part of the material that was still unpublished. Edited by Javier Calvo, based on a corpus of more than twelve thousand pages, this first volume, Writing Against Men, focuses on Lovecraft's literary career: his projects, goals, successes, and failures; his relationship with his literary circle; and the birth of the transcendental mythology of him.
