In Cansadas, the well-known journalist Nuria Varela highlights modern sexism. The new misogyny is characterized by defending that equality is already a reality and that, therefore, it no longer makes sense to fight for it. Thus, in today's society, patriarchy disguises its power through the manipulation of language: it speaks of domestic violence and equality, hiding that gender violence - far from disappearing, is an expanding phenomenon to which no society is able to put a brake on it.
