April 1995. Arsim is a twenty-four-year-old student at the University of Pristina in Kosovo, trying to earn a university degree despite the local hostility towards Albanians. In a cafe he meets a young Serb named Milos and falls in love. Everything then changes for both of them, Arsim's wife announces her first pregnancy and he begins a parallel life. The unlikely romance is derailed by the outbreak of war, which sends Arsim's family abroad. Years later, deported to Pristina, alone and without hope, Arsim looks back on his past, wondering how much pain one man can bear and forgive.
